JFD Eye Care Department gets Brand New Vehicle

With support from the Lions Club of Liberia (LCL), the New Sight Eye Center has donated a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser to the Eye Care Department of the Jackson F. Doe Medical Center in Tapita, Nimba County.

 

Ceremony marking the donation of the vehicle was held at the weekend at the NSEC head offices in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.

 

Speaking at donation ceremony, the Executive Director of NSEC, Robert Dolo, indicated that the donation of the vehicle is intended to provide better and more service delivery to the people.

 

According to him, the availability of the vehicle will enable the hospital’s eye care service department deliver the best ever service to the people.

 

Mr. Dolo lauded its donor partners, specifically the Lion Club of Liberia for its continuing support to the institution.

 

On behalf of New Sight Eye Center, I want to, in a very special way thank the Lion Club of Liberia for its support to our institution. This is a proud moment in our history. This is a remarkable achievement as we move to greater heights,” he indicated.

 

He disclosed that the donated vehicle is to be used exclusively by the eye clinic of the hospital for the next five years.

 

This vehicle must be exclusively used for outreach and for the eye clinic and this is for five year. There will be other services for maintenance. All vehicle laws must be adhered to,” he added.

 

In response, the CEO of the JFD Hospital, Dr. Ponnie Robertlee Dolo, thanked NSEC and LCL for the donation, with the vow of using it for the intended purpose.

 

This is a day that we have long awaited and we are excited. This vehicle is so crucial to our work. Outreach is important and we will reach further to get more patients. We are thinking outside the box to ensure that the project is sustained as it is to be turned over to the hospital soon,” Dr. Dolo asserted.

 

With this car, services will be rendered more adequately. We are thankful to our partners for their contribution. The vehicle will be used for the intended purpose. It is going to significantly help our people, because more people will benefit. We can assure you that we will do our best,” he added.
