Pres. Boakai Appoints Key Gov’t Officials, Strengthening Leadership Across Key Ministries

The President’s first key nomination is Hon. Henry B. Fahnbulleh, who has been appointed as Liberia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

This prestigious post comes as part of Liberia's ongoing efforts to deepen diplomatic relations and strengthen ties with the Middle East and North Africa. Fahnbulleh, known for his expertise in diplomacy and international relations, will be tasked with representing Liberia's interests and fostering bilateral cooperation with Egypt.

"Ambassador Fahnbulleh brings a wealth of experience that will serve Liberia’s diplomatic interests well. I am confident that he will continue to elevate Liberia's standing on the global stage," President Boakai stated in his announcement.

Fahnbulleh’s appointment is expected to boost Liberia's engagement in the Arab world, focusing on trade, development assistance, and regional security.

His expertise in foreign relations makes him an ideal choice for strengthening Liberia’s global diplomacy, particularly in the context of a changing geopolitical environment.

Another significant appointment made by President Boakai is the selection of Mr. Oscar F. Mulbah as the Assistant Minister for Public Affairs at the Ministry of National Defense (MOD).

Mulbah, a seasoned communications expert and public relations professional, will be responsible for enhancing communication between the MOD and the public, as well as crafting the ministry’s public image.

The move is aimed at improving the transparency and accountability of the Ministry, ensuring that the public remains well-informed about the government’s defense and security policies.

In the crucial area of food security and sustainable development, President Boakai has appointed several officials to the Food Authority of Liberia. This includes the appointment of Ms. Precellia Cherue as Director General, with Ms. Georgette Gray and Mr. Theophilus Ndorbor as Deputy Director Generals for Administration and Technical Services, respectively.

The new leadership at the Food Authority is set to enhance Liberia’s food security initiatives, focusing on improving agricultural productivity, food distribution, and ensuring that citizens have access to sufficient and nutritious food.

Further enhancing the Food Authority’s governance, President Boakai has also nominated new members for the Board of the Food Authority. The new board members include Dr. Teakon Williams as Chairman, and Ms. Elizabeth T.W. Omoko, Ms. Nenneh Kamara-Chieyoe, Ms. Jackie Khoury, and Ms. Princess Emjeken as members. Additionally, the Transport Union of Liberia has also been included as a member, while the Director General of the Food Authority will serve as the Secretary.

These appointments are aimed at ensuring strong leadership and oversight of the Food Authority, promoting a more coordinated approach to addressing food production and distribution challenges in Liberia. The new board will work closely with the Director General to streamline operations and enhance the efficiency of the Authority’s programs.
